About Bluewater Inshore Guide Service

Bluewater Inshore Guide Service operates a 2008 Ranger 2200 Bay Boat equipped with a 250HP Yamaha Four Stroke Engine out of Fort Pierce Florida.  Fort Pierce is located on the Southeast coast of Florida, one hour north of West Palm Beach, and about two hours south of Orlando.  Fishing is good year-round and close by.  The Fort Pierce Inlet is less than ten minutes away and the Indian River Lagoon and Fort Pierce Bridges are even closer.
There are many tropical sport fishing species available.  They include snook, sea trout, tarpon, permit, red fish, cobia, snapper, grouper, kingfish and more.  Most species can be caught year-round as water temperatures remain between 60 and 85 degrees.

We are also fortunate to be located close to the Saint Lucie County Nuclear Power Plant.  This facility provides a clean energy source to residents while offering a warm water bonus to fisherman.  The warm water out-flow is produced all year and provides fish with consistent temperatures.
Have a look at the Bluewater Inshore Guide Service Photo Gallery to see some of the fish caught at the Power Plant.

About your Captain: Tim Simos

At age 13 Tim entered his first fishing tournament and won.  The next two he fished in, he won as well.  In the ‘80s and ‘90s he successfully competed in bass tournaments of all levels from Canada to Florida.    These venues taught him valuable lessons about fish behavior and fishing under pressure, which he still applies today. Lessons that include selecting the best technique for that day and time management on the water.

Mr. Simos was born, raised and educated in the Northeastern United States.  He  studied natural and marine sciences in high school and college and earned a B.S. degree from Stockton University. In college he focused his studies on animal and fish behavior.

Tim’s fishing interests gradually shifted to the saltwater environment, where he concentrates his pursuits today.   While making a living in the home improvement and taxidermy fields, he spent as much time as possible working at fishing lodges world-wide and fishing the Indian River Lagoon out of Fort Pierce, Florida.

While working and fishing at various exotic fishing destinations such as Panama, Bahamas, Cotsta Rica, Africa and Mexico, Tim has gained a wealth of knowledge and learned some unique fishing techniques.  By being out on boats day after day at these locations, Tim is able to observe how fish react to different bait presentations and also to changes in their environment.

Now, Tim is a full time Guide and Fishing Photographer living on the northern barrier island of Fort Pierce, Florida.  Soon after relocating to Fort Pierce, Tim experimented with, and developed different ways to catch some of the local species.  He applies these unique techniques to live bait as well as lure fishing.  For example, he catches 10-15 pound Saltwater Fish on buzz baits made for freshwater bass fishing.  “What a thrill it is to see this size fish crush a buzz bait”

Tim believes that a day on the water should not be a matter of trying a bunch of “spots”.  But should be an exercise in predicting and anticipating where the target species will be the most active at a particular time of the tide cycle for that day.  Furthermore, predictions of the most productive seasonal locations and patterns should be applied first.

You also have the option of asking Tim to photograph your catch.  You may request to have the photos sent to you(one per specie)over the internet, at no charge.  You also have the option of obtaining high quality enlargements.  The value of an 8 x 10 enlargement is priced at $35.  If you charter at standard rates, the first one will be free.   Lastly, Tim will not offer your photographs to Fishing Magazines for publication without your permission.

Thank you.
Hope to see you soon!
